Grandma's German Chocolate Cake


Great holiday dessert or just a dessert for any occasion, this cake will surely impress any who eat it.

  • Chocolate Cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups sugar

  • ¾ cup cocoa

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1½ teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup milk

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 cup boiling water

1. Combine the dry ingredients in to a bowl and mix well

2. Add the wet ingredients in the dry and mix well until no clumps are seen

3. Pour mixture into 2 (8x8) cake pans

4. Bake for 30 minute at 350

5. Add the German chocolate frosting onto the first cake then add the second layer and top with frosting
